Early Pedigrees

Pedigrees do not go back much further than the mid-19th century, and some of the pedigrees of the first hounds used were unknown. The following is about as much as is known of the early breeding:-

head  COLIN as portrayed in Phyllis Gardner's "Irish Wolfhound Portraits". He was bred and owned by Capt. Graham. The small high-set ear was a point much sought after but not possessed by many hounds
