O'Hooligan was a character I devised when we first started the Irish
Wolfhound Magazine, the first issue of which was published in April, 1972. As
we were always short of copy, it was useful to have something that could be
relied on to fill half a page! I've since done a few more, so here they are,
and I hope you find them amusing.

"Take no notice, Vicar. It's not really
his chair" |
"Why must you take all the duvet! I'm
frozen!" |
"I'm allowed to kiss her; she's my
wife!" |
"It's no good pretending you've been there all
night; the sofa cushions are still warm!" |
"A tablespoonful twice a day sounded easy
enough!" |
It's all very well your being so lively in the
mornings; you sleep all day!" |
A Wolfhound will never run into you as long as you
don't try to dodge........As a general rule! |
"I've come to the conclusion I can afford to
keep HIM but you'll have to go" |
"Why should I always be the one to sleep in the
spare room? Move on to her side for a change!" |
"I don't know where he got the idea he's a lap
dog" |
"I thought this breed was supposed to like
rain!" |
"Would you turn the telly on, dear? If I get
up he'll take my place." |
"Hey! I've only been gone an hour!" |
"No! Down! It's MY apple! |
